MEET THE PASTOR

Pastor Kate Snipes is a passionate worship leader and compassionate pastor dedicated to guiding our congregation in faith, hope, and love.

Pastor Kate’s journey in ministry began with a calling to serve others. In her first career as an agricultural economist and U.S. diplomat, she worked to address food insecurity by connecting products and expertise from the United States with communities in need around the world. Her work took her to Mexico, Poland, Spain, Kenya, and France, where she helped support efforts to improve access to food and agricultural resources.

She began her second career in ministry serving at the American Church in Paris, a large and diverse English-speaking Protestant congregation in France. Pastor Kate earned her Master of Divinity degree from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. Prior to coming to Novato, she served as a hospital chaplain resident in Walnut Creek, California.

Pastor Kate’s compassionate leadership and dynamic preaching inspire us to live out our faith with courage and purpose. Through engaging sermons grounded in Scripture and church history, she has a gift for connecting timeless truths with the challenges and opportunities of modern life. Her teaching encourages spiritual growth and deeper relationships with God and one another.

Beyond the pulpit, Pastor Kate is actively involved in the congregation’s outreach ministries, seeking to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need. She supports our lunchtime bag-lunch and homeless feeding ministry and is committed to serving our local community with compassion and care.

Pastor Kate also serves the California-Nevada Annual Conference as Vice Chair of Finance and Administration. In addition, she supports the Marin United Methodist Church Circuit, where congregations occasionally gather for shared worship services and messages.

Pastor Kate enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris, and their two children. New to Marin County, she is enjoying exploring the area's beautiful landscapes and communities.
